- On the 15th of August the feast day of the Dormition of the Virgin is celebrated at Markopoulo village
- On the 16th of August the procession of St. Gerasimos – the patron saint of the island – takes place at Omala, Argostoli and Skala
- October 20th procession of St. Gerasimos at Omala
- During the summer months several cultural, artistic and athletic events are held at Argostoli, Poros and Skala
